Titans in groundbreaking new deal

ROTHERHAM Titans have today unveiled a groundbreaking new partnership as the country's only rugby club to carry a national charity on their shirts.

Titans have joined forces with Prostate Cancer UK as part of a major initiative under new chief executive Richard Lamb, also welcomed into the role this week by the Clifton Lane outfit.

From the start of the 2016-17 season, Titans will raise money and promote awareness of the charity - including the shirt logo on their new-look kit.

Said chairman Nick Cragg: "The work of Prostate Cancer UK in driving awareness among men has been phenomenal. They have created a strong relationship with sport and with one in eight men developing prostate cancer in their lives the charity is very pertinent for us at Titans.”

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We’re delighted that Rotherham Titans have decided to join the fight against prostate cancer and raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

“Ignoring prostate cancer will not beat it, and the money raised during this exciting partnership will fund ground-breaking research to help fight the disease. That will help us provide dedicated support and information to men and their families affected by this disease."

Meanwhile, Richard Lamb's arrival will herald a raft of other new initiatives which will be detailed in a two-page special in this Friday's Advertiser.
