Titans edge it in Albion thriller

TITANS effectively made sure of their place in next season's RFU Championship when they edged home 34-31 in an eight-try nailbiter against Plymouth Albion.

Last time out against the Devon side at Clifton Lane, Titans blasted 59 points past their opponents in the British and Irish up.

But it was a different story this time around as they were made to work hard for a win which came in the final minutes.

Titans had opened up a 14-0 lead in as many minutes thanks to a penalty try and a James McKinney touchdown.

But Albion hit back and midway through the second period had opened a 28-21 advantage. But when Mulchrone bagged his second try it squared matters and after the side traded penalties it was cool-headed Garry Law who clubbed the winning three points as the clock ticked down.

Said Law afterwards: "They were five very important points for us and hopefully it will now mean we are safe."

Titans now head to Bristol this Sunday.
