Titans consider complaint to RFU

ROTHERHAM Titans are poised to make a formal complaint to the RFU after centre Jonny Hepworth was forced out of the game for at least three weeks with a head injury suffered during Saturday's win over Nottingham.

The Clifton Lane club have watched the official DVD of the game which shows Nottingham no.8 Sione Kalamafoni clash with the Rotherham star - and later floor Richard Welding in a similar challenge.

Hepworth was pole-axed by the challenge and will undergo a mandatory three-weeks on the sidelines as he recovers from concussion.

Said coach Andre Bester: "We have watched the film of the game and are considering our position.

"Jonny was knocked unconscious by a knee to the head and anyone that watches that footage can make their own judgment about the intent of the player.

"My main concern is the safety of my players and of others in the game."

If Rotherham opt to cite Tongan Kalamafoni - who was making his full debut - the player faces a lengthy ban.
