The Clifton Lane men need a swift turn-around after the disappointment of last week’s derby defeat at Doncaster when they couldn’t find the extra gear that had brought victory in the previous week’s opener against London Welsh.

And Burnell is confident that Rotherham can get back to winning ways as they face an Exiles side that has suffered two straight defeats so far in a difficult start to the season, including being thumped at home by arch rivals Welsh last week.

“We know it will be difficult, they all are, but we have to be optimistic,” he said.
