Subbed Alfie runs into trouble

TOP scorer Adam Le Fondre has been criticised by Millers chief Ronnie Moore for his “disrespectful” reaction to being subbed in the weekend defeat at Wycombe.

TOP scorer Adam Le Fondre has been criticised by Millers chief Ronnie Moore for his “disrespectful” reaction to being subbed in the weekend defeat at Wycombe.

The striker was clearly displeased at being hauled off late in the match as the Millers chased an equaliser at 1-0 down, shaking his head slightly as he walked off and then passing the management team without acknowledgement and grabbing a tracksuit top before sitting on the end seat in the dugout.

Moore reminded the 17-goal marksman that nobody is immune to being substituted and that he was taken off on merit after struggling to make an impact.

Moore said: “It doesn’t matter who you are. Nobody has a divine right to stay on. The way he was playing he was never going to score a goal.

“It was one of those and days. It happens. I thought it was a chance to get Tom Pope on there with a bit more height and a bit more strength and a bit more willingness.

“He (Alfie) has got to accept it happens and he is part and parcel of this team. I didn’t like his reaction. I didn’t expect him to come off and jump all over me because he’s coming off but I certainly don’t expect him to show disrespect to the players and to the decision I made. I will not have it and I told him. It will not happen again.”
