Stadium scores with new sponsor

Long-time partners Ben Bennett Jnr are sponsoring the East Stand, joining Eric Twigg Foods and Pukka Pies in committing their name to the new stadium, on course to be completed in July next year.

Ben Bennett Jnr, a family business going back 128 years, have had a long association with the club, and many will have seen an advert from the company in the recent re-print of the 1961 League Cup matchday programme.

The deal is for an initial three years.

The club's head of commercial, Steve Lewis, said: "I am ecstatic that we have secured another major partner for the new stadium, and equally delighted to be extending our long-term relationship with Ben Bennett Jnr.

"They are family business who are all Rotherham United supporters so we feel it was very fitting that they have chosen to sponsor the new family East Stand."

Ben Bennett, owner of Ben Bennett Jnr, said: "I am very proud and delighted to be sponsoring the new family stand. I watched my first Millers match on Boxing Day 1950 so I have been a supporter of the club for 61 years now.

"It was very important to me that we sponsored the family stand because my wife, son, daughter and my grandchildren all support the club. My eldest grandchild follows the Millers all around the country."
