SPRINTER Louise Bloor says she's determined to step up the pace in pursuit of a place in the forthcoming World Championships.

The Maltby racer (29) didn't qualify from her heat in the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games in London, timing 11.56 after a poor start. She knows that a relays place at the Worlds is achievable but has to kick on and impress the selectors.

“I'm a bit disappointed really as I didn't get out well at all,” she said at the event.

“My flat speed at the moment is very, very good but I'm not powerful enough out of the blocks."
