#SombreroforSteve picks up pace

THE campaign for Millers manager Steve Evans to don a sombrero in the dugout at Elland Road tomorrow has moved up another notch.

Sponsors Fanbookz have organised a sombrero to travel from London to Rotherham so that Evans can travel to Leeds with it in Rotherham's final Championship fixture of the season.

The campaign began before the Reading game on Tuesday night - which the Millers won 2-1 and secured their Championship status - when Evans announced in a pre-match press conference that he would wear the Mexican headwear if he kept his side up.

Since then numerous local and national media outlets have jumped on the back of this quote and Sky Sports set up the Twitter hastag #SombreroforSteve.

Now, Fanbookz have created a profile for the sombrero to chart its journey from the capital, posting pictures of its arrival in South Yorkshire.

You can follow the account @Stevessombrero on Twitter to keep up to date with its journey up north.

Don't forget in today's Rotherham Advertiser there is the free 16 page Millers Extra pullout, full of reaction and pictures from Tuesday night's victory and Evans' exclusive column.
