Selection poser for delighted Jones

TITANS coach Mark Jones faces a selection headache going into this weekend’s Championship resumption against a potentially prickly Jersey.

Saturday’s 48-12, eight-try British and Irish Cup landslide at Ealing saw a raft of good performances including from the non-regulars who were given a chance at first-team level.

Jones was left delighted with the way so many players put their hand up for regular consideration.

“It’s all added a huge amount of competition for places which will drive the standards within the squad,” said Jones.

Curtis Wilson was the star of the show with a classy hat-trick while fellow backs Jack Hayes, Ben Rath plus Goodwin all touched down, as did forwards Michael Cromie and Tom Calladine.

“I was very pleased with our performance, we have been threatening to do that to a couple of sides throughout the season in some bad conditions," added Jones. "The conditions, apart from the wind, were perfect and we just clicked and I thought in the first half we were very impressive.”
