Season tickets selling well

SUPPORTERS have snapped up more than 700 season tickets in just three days for Rotherham United's new stadium.

By yesterday, 751 had been sold for the historic 2012/13 campaign and officials hope to equal last year's figure of 1,585 as early as next week.

Many more supporters have booked into special presentations being held at the new civic offices to help them choose their seats at the 12,000-capacity New York Stadium, due to open this July.

Head of commercial Steve Lewis told the Advertiser: "We're booking into April for those already. The response has been fantastic."

The Millers, meanwhile, pick up their faltering League Two campaign at home to relegation strugglers Plymouth Argyle tomorrow.

Without a win in five after draws against Barnet and Crewe, a win is imperative if Andy Scott's side are to get back into the League Two play-off picture.

Long-term absentee Gareth Evans, now recovered from a back injury, is pushing for a return after completing 70 minutes for the reserves in midweek. Checks will be made on him and centre-half Richard Naylor (knee). Left-back Scott Griffiths returns after missing the Crewe game due to a personal issue.

Striker Shaun Harrad is due to play his last game on loan from Bury tomorrow, with Scott keen to extend his stay.
