Scott keeps the faith

ROTHERHAM United pick up their League Two campaign at Southend United on Friday night with boss Andy Scott detecting a fresh determination among his players.

The manager and team have come in for criticism after a string of poor results, the latest a 3-2 defeat at Dagenham and Redbridge a fortnight ago.

The weather prevented the Millers trying to make amends against Torquay United on Saturday and now they'll attempt to make up lost ground, and prove a few people wrong, on their long trip to the Essex coast.

Scott said: "Even though there was a collective disappointment among the players after Dagenham, they got themselves together and said that if they keep playing like that then they'll start picking results up.

"That's indicative of the side and the characters we have; they are going to drive each other on from now on.

"We have a smaller squad of players than we had but a more focused group and we can move forward with them."
