Scene set for 39th Rowbotham's Round Rotherham challenge

COMPETITORS go to the start line for the Rowbotham's Round Rotherham event tomorrow.

COMPETITORS go to the start line for the Rowbotham's Round Rotherham Run tomorrow.

The 39th in the series, which includes a 50-miles run, walk and relay trail event, starts out from 6am at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club at Wath for the runners doing the full distance and as early as 4am for walkers. Relays start at 8am.

There are checkpoints at Grange, Treeton, Harthill, Woodsetts, Firbeck, Maltby and Hooton Roberts.

The main race has 180 runners.

Last year's fastest male, Rory Harris, is among the field again.

Susan Keens of Maltby Running Club was first female finisher in 2021 in 8hrs 31 mins 5secs.
