Rotherham United Women gear up for cup clash with Doncaster Belles

ROTHERHAM United Women are hoping for a good turnout for an attractive cup clash on Sunday.

They take on one of the most famous names in the women's game, Doncaster Belles, in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women's County Cup at Round wood, home of Parkgate FC.

Formed in 1969, Belles were England’s first national champions and six times Women’s FA Cup winners before the women's game really took off.

They play in National League Division One, a higher level than the Millers.

Rotherham manager Pete Jarvis said: “It is the first time since I came in that we've been drawn against an opponent in a higher league.

“Belles are going to be a tough opponent and we know their history and everything.

“It will be a good benchmark for us.”

Kick-off is 1pm and admission is £3 for adults and free for concessions.

The Millers warmed up with a 4-3 win in a friendly against Ossett last Sunday.

The goals came from Lauren Winter, Georgia Harris, Nnola Oyeka and Daisy Marsh.
