Rotherham swimmer takes silver at Games

RAWMARSH swimmer Joe Roebuck scored a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in India.

The 25-year-old finished second in the 400m individual medley in Delhi.

He worked his way from sixth place at about the halfway point to finish in 4mins 15.84secs.

Joe said: “The 400m medley is always tough no matter where you are. It always hurts but it is great to get on the podium again this year and that makes up for it.

“My breaststroke and freestyle legs are pretty good and my butterfly is my best event, which does give me a bit of relief.”
