Rotherham still 'home' for Danny

MASTERS champion Danny Willett intends playing on at Rotherham despite his sudden rise to golfing superstardom.

Willett left the town last year to live at Lindrick, near Worksop, and is now settled there with wife Nicole and their new baby boy, Zachariah.

But speaking at a press call at Rotherham Golf Club this week, the 28-year-old said his recent triumph at Augusta and global commitments wouldn't pull him away from his “home” course.

“Of course I'll come back, it is still home,” he said. “I'm a member at Rotherham and a member at Lindrick and me and the lads go and play both places.

“If I've got a week off and I feel like having a knock, fortunately enough I've got enough friends who can take the day off work and come and have a game and a few drinks afterwards.

“I hope I will still stay relatively grounded and come back and play with the guys.”
