Rotherham schoolkids and the Millers provide shoes for Africa

AN appeal to provide shoes for African children has been kickstarted by donations from Rotherham United and schoolchildren.

The Africa’s Gift Happy Feet appeal has been supporters by Millers staff and players and pupils from Wickersley Northfield Primary School.

The Wickersley children and their parents handed over hundreds of shoes to charity founder Ken Dunn.

He said: “The Advertiser featured our campaign to get shoes to Africa and encourage schools to have Happy Feet Days.

“This has been a great success and I would like to thank the readers for their wonderful support.

“I am delighted to say that we now have a drop off point in the reception area of the wonderful New York Stadium should anyone have shoes, trainers or football boots that could have a new life in Africa.”
