Rivals snap up former Titans' skipper

FORMER Titans skipper Tom Holmes has signed for rivals Nottingham.

The 26 year-old second rower joins the Green and Whites after two seasons at Rotherham.

The 6'5” and 114kg former England Under-18 international is highly respected within the game and will no doubt be seen as a shrewd replacement for last season's Nottingham captain Dan Montagu, who recently announced he would not be returning for the new season.

Speaking about the capture of Holmes, Nottingham's director of rugby Simon Beatham said: "Tom is another great signing for us. He's had bags of experience both at Premiership and Championship level and is a proven leader.

"His presence in the team will no doubt have a positive effect, especially with some of our younger guys, who will be looking for someone with Tom's stature and presence for guidance. He's a hardworking forward, who does the basics very, very well and I can't wait to see him in action here at The Bay.”
