Positives from cup outing

ROTHERHAM United's assistant manager, Paul Raynor, says last night's Capital One Cup tie has thrown up some welcome selection headaches ahead of the return to league action.

Showing six changes to the side beaten in the Championship opener at Derby County on Saturday, the Millers beat Fleetwood 1-0 to move into the second round.

An extra-time goal from substitute Matt Derbyshire broke the visitors' resistance, delivering a welcome boost before Saturday's clash with Wolves.

Raynor said: "Football is all about winning. We got a lot of praise on Saturday for how well organised we were against a very good Derby side but we came away with nothing. We'd rather have points than plaudits.

"We asked the boys to give us some problems in terms of team selection for Saturday and now we've got some food for thought and there will be some interesting discussions before the weekend."
