Point-saver Nardiello sees red
DANIEL Nardiello came off the bench to earn Rotherham United a point against Shrewsbury Town at the New York Stadium – and was then red-carded at the final whistle.
Making his first appearance of the season following a hamstring injury, last season’s top scorer headed in midway through the second half to make it 2-2 and maintain the Millers’ unbeaten start in League One.

Rotherham struggled in the first half and Jon Taylor put Shrewsbury into the lead after 20 minutes, starting a move that ended with him meeting Paul Parry’s cross with a header past Scott Shearer.
Alex Revell’s delicious angled finish into the bottom corner from Matt Tubbs’ lay-off made evened the scores 11 minutes after the break but the visitors hit back through Tom Bradshaw, sliding home after Luke Summerfield’s initial shot was parried.
Steve Evans introduced Nardiello in the search for a second equaliser and he found the net almost immediately. Ben Pringle swung in a free-kick and his header squeezed through the legs of goalkeeper Chris Weale.
Pringle and Mark Bradley went close before the late drama.
