Play-offs blow for Titans

ERROR-STREWN Rotherham Titans suffered a poor start to their Championship play-off campaign at Clifton Lane on Saturday.

They shipped eight tries in a 58-15 defeat to rampant Bedford Blues, six of them in a disastrous second half.

Titans' only consolations were tries by Matt Rhodes and Juan Pablo Socino, who also added a conversion and a penalty.

The result leaves Andre Bester's outfit with an even tougher task to claim one of the two qualifying spots from Pool B ahead of this weekend's trip to neighbours Doncaster Knights.

They will also travel without influential forward Sam Dickinson, who broke his arm on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital and will take no further part in the remaining five play-off games.
