Pick up tips from the experts ahead of Rotherham 10K

FUN runners can pick up tips from the experts next weekend at a training day ahead of the Rotherham 10k.

More than 200 people have signed up for the race’s post-pandemic return to Clifton Park, Canklow and the town centre on May 15 and co-organiser Ray Matthews said he was optimistic it would be a great success.

An open event is being held at I-Motion gym off Greasbrough Road in the town centre from 10am next Saturday, with advice for runners, gait analysis, competitions and free spinning and zumba classes.

As well as the 10k, there will be a fun run and a schools challenge, where schools enter a team and the first four finishers’ times are counted.

Veteran fundraiser and multi-marathon man Ray said he also had high hopes for the Rotherham Schools Challenge, with more than twice as many schools having signed up than last time around.

He added: “I’m hopeful we will be getting more entries for the race now that the Sheffield Half-marathon is safely out of the way.

“I’m very optimistic it’s going to be a great event.”
