Past champions plan reunion

FORMER players and associates of a highly successful local side are being invited to a reunion.

New Stubbin Colliery from Rawmarsh won a host of trophies from 1975-1990, including the Rotherham Association League (twice), Rotherham Association Cup (three times), Rotherham Charity Cup, Darnall Medical Aid Cup (twice), Tinsley Charity Cup (twice), Sheffield Amateur League (twice) and the Amateur League Cup and were also beaten finalists in the Charity Cup, Mexborough Montagu Cup and Sheffield Junior Cup.

The reunion for those involved with the club during that 15-year period is a private function at the Monkwood Hotel, Rawmarsh, on Saturday, September 27 (7 for 7.30pm) at £5 per head, including a buffet.

Spokesman Ellis Brown said: "It promises to be a great night with many happy memories. It will also bring together many top quality players who played in local football during this period."
