TRC's rugby success story results in a national final
THOMAS Rotherham College rugby union team have upset the odds to reach the final of a country-wide competition.
TRC will play Hartpury College in the England Colleges RFU National Cup on March 18 and what makes their achievement extra special is that the team has grown from humble origins.

Rotherham Titans scrum-half JB Bruzulier started off with little more than a handful of players.
He said: “Three years ago I only had eight players. Last year I had 20 and this year I have more than 30, and a lot of them only have only stepped on a rugby field for the first time this season.

"It’s the most successful time we've and to get from where we started to where we are now is really good.”
The lads are part of the TRC Rugby Academy, run in conjunction with the Titans Community Foundation.
They receive coaching alongside their studies and have also been helped along the way by past and present Titans like Sam Boxall, Alastair Donkor, Jamie Cooke, Travis Gordon, Andrew Foster and Cuchulain Livingstone.
All the hard work and keen listening has paid off because TRC have overcome colleges with a much richer rugby history, including private schools, to reach the final.
They beat Farnborough College to book their place in the decider, which will be played at Stourbridge.
Added JB: “The past two teams we have played are very well resourced so to be able to make it to a final is pretty special.
"The way the Academy is going hopefully we can link it to the Titans and make a good player pathway there.
"We’re all looking forward to the final and it really would be great to go all the way and win the cup now.”
The TRC team are looking for a sponsor.
