The -10 score would have been good enough to win the event several times over the last few years.
Lucas also scooped the 36-hole prize for the lowest score, shooting 70,67 for a -7 score. Jack’s afternoon 66 was the lowest score of the day following his morning 74 and not to be outdone, Charles Daughtrey followed up a morning 67 with an afternoon 73 – amazing scoring in amateur golf.

Hide AdThe win sees Rotherham qualify for the English Club Champions event at Ealing in September.
Team manager Dean Longden said: “It was some of the best golf I’ve ever witnessed, pure ball striking, superb putting. It was a pleasure to have seen the lads play.”
The victory adds to the SUGC league title they won last week, and a win in September would live long in the history of Rotherham Golf Club.

Hide AdThe Sheffield Open takes place at Rotherham this week, and as usual a strong field made up of several local based players has been assembled.
Amongst them are Sheffield Plate champion Tom Stanley, Yorkshire’s Lewis Hollingworth and up and coming pro Luca Houlgate.
The course is in excellent condition and the following Thursday will host the Westwood Trophy, which is now played over 36 holes on the same day.
Again, a strong field has been assembled, hoping to add their name to a trophy that includes some current players on the DP World Tour.
