Clean sweep for Rotherham Metro under 14s water polo team
ROTHERHAM Metro under 14s swimmers produced a superb performance to win a seven team water polo tournament and remain undefeated throughout.
The Northern Water Polo League Under 14s Tournament was organised by volunteers from the Northern Water Polo League and saw Metro take on teams from Morley, Sedgefield, Sheffield, Grantham, Liverpool and Tyldesley.
Played at Maltby Leisure Centre, which hosts the North East and Talent Centre squads as well as being the home of Rotherham Metro Water Polo Club, the mixed team coached by Rich Leighton, Matt Arthur and supported by team manager Laura Wright won six out of six games.
And it was all the more impressive in that for some of the players it was their first water polo tournament.
