Oram signs in at Titans

TITANS say new recruit George Oram has "huge potential."

Oram (21) plays in the second row and will join up with the players when they report back on June 22.

Born in Maidstone, he's a former England Counties player and forwards coach Steve Salvin has saluted his qualities.

"We were looking for a tight-lock and that's what we've got with George," said Salvin. "He's 6ft 4in and 120kgs, which means he's a big man. He's a good scrummager, he's good in the lineout and he has a point of difference, that being he is a very good ball carrier, so to find someone who is a specialist tight-lock with that point of difference is a real bonus.

"We were initially alerted about George through an agent. George was playing for Blackheath in National One at the time and he pretty much played in every game for them last season and excelled. We did our research on him and liked the references and in the end it was a no-brainer for the club.

"George will come here and be in contention with the other lads in the second row for a starting place in the match day squad. He has huge potential and we are very much looking forward to working with him next season."

Oram added: "The environment that's been created here is outstanding and the opportunity for growth in my personal game is really exciting."
