Onwards and upwards for Harris

BACK-in-the saddle Karl Harris had a tough time with three non-finishes in the weekend’s British Superbike Championship round at Brands Hatch—but is heading in the right direction, according to his team boss.

Harris recently returned to racing with the Splitlath Motorsport team, making his comeback at Oulton Park last month.

The former British Supersport champion didn’t complete that round, crashing out while in the top ten, and found it equally difficult at Brands with only five laps completed in all three races.

But Team Principal John Dimbylow believes Harris is on the right track.

He said: “With Karl, I think we’ve made great progress during the weekend.

“It may not be noticeable in our results, but we are still very very pleased with how our development is going.

“We tried a whole bunch of new things with Karl’s bike which unfortunately didn’t work out, but we are in it for the long haul so these experiences are vital.”

The Anston rider’s next outing for the team is on August 27-29 at his favoured Cadwell Park track.
