Natalie's world title triumph

Natalie Smith, from Brampton Bierlow, took the top spot for both the formation discipline and for her fighting skills to ensure victory.

The tournament was held in Detroit.

The 18-year-old was one of 20 competitors to represent Britain and the teenager couldn't have asked for a better result — and insists she couldn't have done it alone.

She said:"I would like to give thanks to those who supported me in every way possible, especially to my parents, grandparents and all my other followers who have supported me in a much bigger way than just financially."
