Millers monitor injured quartet

ROTHERHAM United are nursing four players back to fitness as the countdown continues to the big kick-off.

Winger David Worrall was substituted in last night's 3-2 defeat to Middlesbrough at the New York Stadium with a slight groin strain but is expected to make a quick recovery.

Manager Steve Evans also reported that striker Daniel Nardiello, who sat out the game with a hamstring injury sustained in Saturday's defeat to Huddersfield Town, will return to training at the back end of next week with a view to being fit for the League One opener away to Crewe.

Meanwhile, midfield Lee Frecklington is poised to return to training from a dead leg while goalkeeper Scott Shearer, who was also missing last night, has an ankle knock.

Michael O'Connor, from the penalty spot, and Alex Revell scored for the Millers in a highly entertaining and open game.

The Millers are expected to send a young team to Stocksbridge Park Steels tonight (7.30pm) before Saturday's final warm-up game back at the New York against Barnsley.
