Millers hit the goals trail

ROTHERHAM United boss Ronnie Moore had plenty of praise for his players after they got back to winning ways by thumping Stockport County at Don Valley Stadium on Saturday.

A brace from Ryan Taylor, an 18th goal of the season for Adam Le Fondre and an own goal sentenced the rock bottom visitors to a 4-0 defeat and pushed the Millers back up to third place in League Two.

Moore said: "We were up and at it from the first minute and set the tone and it was good to keep a clean sheet.

"The fans got behind us and it was nice to be cheered off. We worked hard and chased things and if you do that then the crowd will stand by you.

"Ryan was nice and sharp—his finishing was brilliant—and Alfie played a lot better.

"Their back four couldn't handle them."

Moore handed a debut to his son, Ian Thomas-Moore, fresh in from Tranmere Rovers, and the new man made an impression by laying on Le Fondre's goal.

"Ian did OK considering he doesn't like playing wide left," said Moore. "He worked his socks off but he got a little bit tired late on."

The victory was Rotherham's first in five games, with a visit to top-seven contenders Port Vale to follow tomorrow.
