Millers hit road in positive mood

ROTHERHAM United hit the road for their first away game at Plymouth Argyle tomorrow with manager Andy Scott promising an attacking approach.

Boosted by an opening-day win against Oxford United and a brave defeat to big-spending Leicester City at Don Valley Stadium on Tuesday night, the Millers are in good spirits ahead of the long trip to the south coast.

But with competition at the top of League Two expected to be stiffer than normal this time around and Scott having one of the strongest squads at his disposal, the bar is being set high.

Scott said: "At some clubs you're at, you feel you can win games at home and away from home you feel you need to be more tactical and get a point. But I believe this squad is good enough to beat anyone home and away.

"We want to try and play the way we want to play, which is to attack and play attractive football and create plenty of chances and win games. If you want to get promoted, you can't do it with draws. You do it with wins.

"We have to concentrate on ourselves. We need to keep picking up points and we don't want to fall behind in any way. You don't want to play catch-up in this league."

Marcus Marshall and Lewis Grabban, both of whom picked up knocks in midweek, will travel and are expected to be available, as will centre-half Troy Brown, who is back from Wales U21 duty.
