Main name captaincy team

MALTBY Main have announced that Nicky Darker will be the club captain next season and Steve Hopewell vice captain.

Darker has a wealth of experience in non-league, playing 120 games for Main, while Hopewell joined last season and was pivotal in their upsurge during the second half of the campsaign.

Joint boss Spencer Fearn said: "Both players were exceptional for us last season, they have great leadership qualities and we are really pleased they are taking on these roles."

Main have also captured centre-half Reece Wesley on a one-year deal. Wesley was with Parkgate last season and Fearn is delighted to be bringing him back to Muglet Lane.

Wesley joins Darker, Hopewell, Danny Rusling, Lee Hill and Ryan Carroll in penning one-year deals.
