Let's make Lane a fortress: Titans coach

COACH Justin Burnell believes Clifton Lane can return to being an unhappy hunting ground for visiting clubs.

Following last week’s impressive win over Bedford, he wants Rotherham to maintain their upswing in performance as they close in on safety in the Championship.

“We have to turn the ground back into a fortress,” he said. “We’ve got London Scottish and Nottingham to come here and we want them to worry about that. That’s a big thing for me.

“It was a good workmanlike performance against Bedford. We worked hard in the pack and stopped them having any ball at source.”

Now Burnell heads to former club London Welsh this weekend, confident that Titans can secure another all-important win.

“I’m looking forward to going there because I’ve a lot of friends at the club and had a happy time — but am I going there to win it? You bet I am,” he added.
