Late goals down Millers

TWO goals in the last 20 minutes sentenced Rotherham United to a 2-0 defeat against Watford at the New York Stadium.

After a bright first-half display, the hard-working Millers were undone by strikes from substitute Lloyd Dyer and Gianni Munari as the visitors improved after the break.

Dyer scored the first on 74 minutes, netting from close range after Adam Collin parried a shot from Odion Jude Ighalo.

Tommie Hoban then teed up Munari to tap in their second eight minutes from time and complete Rotherham’s second defeat in three games since their promotion to the Championship.

Ben Pringle, Lee Frecklington and Paul Taylor all had goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes scrambling in the first half and Taylor also came closest to a response after Watford’s goals when he hooked over.

The home line-up included Richie Smallwood, back at the club  for a second spell on loan from Middlesbrough.
