Keep focused, says Evans

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans is asking his team to focus on the task ahead after their triumph at Bristol Rovers last night.

The Millers moved into the automatic promotion places in League Two with a 2-1 win thanks to two goals in two minutes from Kayode Odejayi and Lee Frecklington in the second half.

But Evans isn't getting too excited by his team's three-match winning run, their best in the league since October.

He said: "We got a good and well-earned three points but there's no point getting carried away.

"We don't have a game on Saturday, which can be looked upon by some as a disappointment, but it's an opportunity to freshen people up. We've been to Torquay and Bristol and won and taken a good Chesterfield team apart so it has been a big week for us, but so is next week."

Rotherham return to action next Tuesday (7.45pm) against York City at the New York Stadium, with Evans expecting a tricky night.

He added: "They've a good manager and good players and they will thoroughly test us and then we are back on the road again (away to Southend and Oxford). It's a marathon."
