JOKER say they are more than ready for today’s FA Sunday Cup quarter-final in Liverpool and can cope with their opponents' artifical pitch.

The Rotherham Sunday League champions journey to Merseyside today to take on top local side Mayfair FC with a place in the last four up for grabs.

Joker have put out two Liverpool sides so far, the last being former winners Oyster Martyrs in front of a big crowd at Maltby's Muglet Lane ground last month.

But to clear the next hurdle they are going to have to deal with one of the strongest teams on Liverpool's Sunday scene and their 3G pitch.

Joker manager Andy Battersby is confident his players can cope.

“We have done our homework on Mayfair and we know a bit about the players and how they're going to play and set up. We are more than ready for it,” he said.

“We're going to Liverpool knowing what's at stake and the 3G pitch is a bit different to what we're used to but we have good footballers.

“It will be better than last Sunday, playing on our boggy ground at Sorby Way. Hopefully this pitch will help us.”

Joker will travel across good and early for the 2pm kick-off and will be backed by a sizeable group of supporters.

“We have a 50-seater coach booked and 23 of those are for players and management staff. The rest are supporters and others are making their way across there in cars,” added Andy.

“We have had good luck messages from some of the Sunday League sides. We're carrying the flag (for the league). The semi-finals are at neutral venues, so we wouldn't get another home tie. It's a tough step to get there and hopefully we can take it."
