In-form Rotherham Titans square up to league leaders

ROTHERHAM Titans expect a high-intensity test when they take on Fylde in a tasty top-of-the-table clash this weekend.

The Lancastrians notched 80 points in victory last Saturday and arrive at Clifton Lane as the early joint leaders of National Two North.

Titans are joint second after winning three of their four opening games and are emerging as genuine promotion challengers following last year’s relegation.

And head coach Steve Salvin expects the visitors to follow the lead of others and try to nullify Rotherham’s  formidable pack.

He said: “Saturday will be exactly the same as we got from Bournville, Blaydon and Sedgley Park, so we are expecting quick taps, quick lineouts, anything to speed the game up really.

"Teams recognise that if they can compete with us up front then they have a chance but in order to do that they need to play with high intensity.

“We need to match high-intensity attacks with high-intensity defence."

Kick-off is 2pm.
