THIRTEENTH was a lucky position for Rotherham Harriers’ senior ladies as they impressed in the national finals of the English Cross Country Association  in Mansfield.

At Berry Hill Park, Harriers entered teams in every section except one with three full teams taking part in the senior ladies race and B teams in three other races. It was one of the highest turnouts for the Herringthorpe club in many years and demonstrates the growing number of athletes atthe club, particularly underlining the strength of the girls’ and women's sections.

That was demonstrated clearly by the excellent results produced in the senior ladies race as the A-team (Steph Burns -10.49; Annabelle Grady - 10.52; Jess Fawcett - 11.11) raced into 13th place in a field of 120 teams. A strong B-team (Rebecca Middleton - 11.28; Sam Johnson - 10.47; Natalie Grant - 11.11) followed them closely throughout to take 17th place overall and claim a third place finish against all other B teams.

Sam Johnson had an outstanding run for the B team as she recorded the club's fastest time of the day.
