Give Blackett the job, says Mike

CARETAKER coach Lee Blackett should be given the Rotherham Titans’ job on a permanent basis — that’s the view from inside the Clifton Lane camp.

Blackett took the reins last week, following the controversial departure of Andre Bester, while the Lane board ponder a replacement for the South African.

But co-coach Mike Whitehead believes the club don’t have to look far and that Blackett has the right credentials for the post.

“I believe you only make changes and bring people in if that makes an improvement,” he said.

“With the way things are, I think the directors should consider Lee as a head coach and bring in someone alongside him as a forwards coach."
