Game of patience for Kearns

NEW boy Daniel Kearns needs time before he can realise his full potential in a Rotherham shirt.

That's the view of assistant boss Paul Raynor on the team's latest loan signing.

In from Peterborough United until the end of the season, Kearns (21) made his bow as a second-half sub against Barnet on Saturday.

The winger was partly at fault for the visitors' second goal after his opposite number, Bees play maker Ricky Holmes, skipped past him in the build-up.

It was noted by the touchline management team but Raynor was sympathetic.

He said: "He had only been in two days and he is getting used to how we play and what we want him to do. He did one or two good things, particularly in possession.

"Daniel dived in for their second goal but we're looking more at what he can do with the ball such as taking players on and getting crosses in. We saw flashes of that on Saturday but there will be more to come."
