Frustration for Millers chief

MANAGER Andy Scott says Rotherham United lacked a killer instinct in Saturday's defeat to Crawley Town.

MANAGER Andy Scott says Rotherham United lacked a killer instinct in Saturday's defeat to Crawley Town at Don Valley Stadium.

The Millers had only Brett Williams' 20th minute goal to show for their first-half dominance and paid for it in the second half as the high-flying visitors hit back to win 2-1 with strikes from Tyrone Barnett and Josh Simpson.

Scott said: "The better side lost but when you play the top teams you have to concentrate for 100 per cent of the time. We did it for 95; we didn't start the second half well.

"We've got to be more ruthless individually in terms of making sure we do our jobs all the time. The game plan worked an absolute treat apart from two times when we switched off."

The defeat was Rotherham's first in seven and means they remain 11th in League Two, four points off the play-off frame.

They are away to fellow League Two outfit Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup second round on Saturday.

League action resumes at Hereford United on Saturday week.
