Fresh challenges for Revell

WEMBLEY hero Alex Revell admits it’s been tough breaking into the starting team at new club Cardiff City.

Revell returned to the New York Stadium on Tuesday and helped City to a 3-1 win.

The 31-year-old was sold to the Welsh outfit in January for £400,000 as he entered the final few months of his contract in South Yorkshire.

Speaking to the Advertiser after Tuesday’s game, Revell said: “I’m enjoying it at Cardiff, it’s been very difficult so far because we have such a high quality of player, the likes of Kenwyne Jones and Eoin Doyle who signed from Chesterfield.

“You’ve seen tonight Federico Macheda has come and scored an amazing goal, so we have got some really good players, which makes it harder for me to get in the starting line up.

“It’s taken a little bit of time to get going really, there were things we needed to improve on but we are starting to do it."
