Fran aims for Games call
WATER polo ace Fran Leighton this week aims to become the latest Rotherham-area competitior in this summer’s Olympics.
The 30-year-old from Wath takes part in the sport’s test event, which started yesterday and concludes on Sunday, at the plush new Olympic Park—and then the waiting game will begin as slelectors whittle down their final squad to take on the world’s best.
It will be a surprise if team captain Fran, from Wath, doesn’t get the call with 13 of the 16-strong squad being selected.
