Manager Matt Taylor gives the answer.

ROTHERHAM United are confident new boy Carlos Quina will fight off injury in time to boost their push for Championship survival.

The Millers’ seventh and final signing of the January transfer window has damaged medial knee ligaments and is facing a spell on the sidelines.

However, the attacking midfielder is expected to recover before the campaign draws to a close on May 8.

“We have to be careful with any knee issue, but I’d like to think he will play a big part this season,” said manager Matt Taylor.

The 23-year-old, who is on loan from Watford, saw a specialist in London last Monday.

“It is going to be three to five weeks,” Taylor said.

Quina cut short a loan spell with LaLiga side Elche to come to AESSEAL New York Stadium until the end of the season.

He felt pain in his joint a week last Monday in training while trying to make a pass and then had to pull out of the squad to face Reading the following day when he experienced more discomfort in similar circumstances during the warm-up at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

“We did not realise at the time how serious it was,” Taylor said. “I don’t think Dom realised either. It is a real shame for him.

“The scan results have shown something more sinister. We will be guided by the specialist and their recommended course of action.”

Quina has made only one brief substitute appearance since joining Rotherham on deadline day, coming on in the 76th minute of the 1-1 draw at Blackpool on January 11.

He had just returned to full fitness after hamstring trouble had seen him sit out most of January with Elche.
