TOLAJI Bola has been hit by another setback in his bid to return to Rotherham United's first-team fold.

The wing-back, who has yet to feature under new boss Matt Taylor, was close to a comeback after a quad injury but has now been laid low with a knee complaint that has required an injection.

“It has set him back another week to ten days,” the manager said. “He can't buy any luck. It's such a shame for him.

“It's a separate issue to his previous injury. As with all injections, you have to give it a few days to let the fluid get around the knee joint. Then we'll build up his training as the week goes on.”

The 23-year-old (above) last played in September at Middlesbrough in Paul Warne's final game in charge.

He could be available for selection over Christmas but the length of time he has been out will count against him.

“He could do with more training or a reserve game or a practice match to get minutes into him,” Taylor said.

“With it being an injection rather than potential surgery, we hope it's only a few days before he's back.

“We want to see him out there and he must be desperate to get back as well.”
