The marks are in ... full player ratings and match stats from Huddersfield Town 2 Rotherham United 0
The Millers (4-3-3)
Viktor Johansson: 6
Not at fault for either goal. Other than that, he had only routine saves to make. Came and punched well when he needed to.
Dexter Lembikisa: 5
A danger at times going forward but was caught out at the back. Needs to look over his shoulder at times and guard against what might be 'on' behind him. He's young and he'll learn.
Cameron Humphreys: 5

Hide AdHe'd been ill in the build-up to the match and it showed. Sluggish and nowhere near the high standards he has consistently set in a Millers shirt.
Tyler Blackett: 6
One of Rotherham's better performers, although he and Humphreys were given a difficult afternoon by Huddersfield's front two
Cohen Bramall: 5
Athletically, he has it all. Positionally, he was found wanting on occasions. Went down after treading on the ball and was hoping for a referee's whistle that never came as Town exploited the space and opened the scoring.
Hakeem Odoffin: 5
There doesn't seem to be anything 'in between' with Haks. He's either a big physical presence and breaking the net with 20-yarders or unable to get into a game and exert his influence. This was one of his poor days.
Christ Tiehi: 6

Hide AdAlways somewhere near the ball and rarely gave it away when he had it. In a match of Millers 'off' days, his day was less off than most.
Ollie Rathbone: 6
Played well in the first half before fading after the break. Tidied up well and got forward with intent.
Fred Onyedinma: 6
By far Rotherham's liveliest attacker. Had a bit of spark and always looked like he might finish something off in the penalty area or create something out wide. His aerial threat is far greater than his size. Maybe I'm being mean not giving him a 7.
Jordan Hugill: 5
Battled in vain. Very little 'stuck' and he didn't give the players around him much to work off.
Andre Green: 5

Hide AdA 'nearly' afternoon. His touch and pace were clear to see, but just when something might have happened for him it didn't.
The subs
Arvin Appiah (for Odoffin 55): 5
One or two lively little dashes but had the ball taken off him too easily.
Sam Clucas (for Rathbone 75): 6
Some encouraging moments. Keep him fit and the Millers could have a player on their hands.
Tom Eaves (for Hugill 75): NA
Spurned a glaring opportunity. A goal with a few minutes to go would have suddenly made the closing stages very interesting.
Sam Nombe (for Green 75): NA

Hide AdYet to get going for his new club. Far too soon to judge him. Huddersfield were in control by the time he came on and he had no chance to shine.

Opposition view
“It was a well-deserved win. We had to work so hard. We knew that if we competed with Rotherham we had enough in our locker to create problems, and we did.

Hide Ad“I had a look at Rotherham and I had a feeling that Josh Koroma and Sorba Thomas could do the job I wanted them to do. For them to get goals as well ... I guess I'm just a lucky manager.
“The only thing now is to finish off more chances. I don't think any of my teams have ever given me a chance of going 4-0 up so I can go and have a fag!”
- Terriers boss Neil Warnock
