A TRIO of Rotherham United first-year pros are back with the Millers after completing loan spells at non-league clubs.

Despite missing some games through injury, Ciaran McGuckin excelled with National League North Scarborough Athletic who came eighth and just missed out on the play-offs for a place in the National League.

Curtis Durose enjoyed a superb campaign with Gainsborough Trinity, racking up 14 goals and 15 assists in 49 appearances as the Holy Blues finished fourth in the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League.

Mack Warne was with Gainsborough early in the campaign and then made a switch to Bridlington Town in Northern Premier League Division One.

All three midfielders came through Rotherham’s youth set-up and signed one-year deals last summer. They are set to hear this week or next whether they are being kept on.

Centre-half Jake Hull, aged 21, has also been on loan in National League North, with Buxton who ended the campaign in 11th spot.

ROTHERHAM United centre-half Jamie McCart has fought back from injury to become a title-winner with his loan club.

The 25-year-old left for Leyton Orient in the January transfer window when manager Matt Taylor decided the summer signing was surplus to requirements.

The Scot was sidelined by a calf issue only two matches into his spell in east London but has been back in the squad since March as the O’s have made sure of lifting the League Two crown.

His last match for Orient before his return to South Yorkshire comes in next Monday’s finale at Bradford City.

Signed by Rotherham during the reign of Paul Warne, McCart failed to establish himself in the first team following his switch from St Johnstone and managed only three starts and seven substitute appearances before being allowed to leave.

Another Millers player out on loan, Tolaji Bola, has struggled for game-time with Bradford City in the third tier.

The left-back was hit by a hamstring soon after his move at the turn of the year and has had to settle mainly for a place on the bench since returning to fitness in early March.

McCart has played eight times (six starts) for Orient while Bola has managed four Bantams outings (two starts).
