Taylor eager to learn from mistakes

WINGER Jon Taylor hopes Rotherham United can learn lessons about defending a lead in time for tonight's clash with Nottingham Forest at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Millers surrendered a 2-0 advantage against Bristol City on Saturday, eventually having to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Although he was forced off with an ankle injury, the former Peterborough United man is expected to be available for selection tonight and believes that with smarter thinking, Rotherham can bounce back.

"We shouldn't be letting a 2-0 lead slip, we dropped off them instead of going at them and putting more pressure on," said Taylor.

"To be fair, Bristol played well and we kept our shape well but we need to do that a bit higher up the pitch and stop them coming at us. Hopefully we can work on that now and not let that happen again. It felt like a defeat and the lads were gutted but we've another game and we need to bounce back as soon as possible."

Forest are the second highest scorers in the Championship so far and a win tonight would take them into the top six.

They are without Matty Cash, ruled out for three months through injury. Thomas Lam, Britt Assombalonga and David Vaughan also miss out while Hildeberto Pereira has a one-match ban from his sending off in the draw at Aston Villa on Sunday. Chris Cohen could feature as he shakes off a calf problem.

Forest manager said Philippe Montanier said: "Rotherham haven't lost at home this season so we know it will be difficult. They present a different challenge to Villa but just as tough."

The action starts at 7.45pm.
