ROTHERHAM United today confirmed what most supporters already knew: that Grant Hall will be a Millers player again next season.

The centre-half spent last term's Championship survival push on loan from Middlesbrough and the 31-year-old has now signed a one-year deal at AESSEAL New York Stadium following the expiry of his contract on Teesside.

The Millers didn't confirm his arrival until noon today but teammate Cameron Humphreys had already let the cat out of the bag earlier in the week by posting pictures on one of his social-media accounts of Hall in pre-season training at the club's Roundwood training complex.

The former Queens Park Rangers man then made an appearance at Thursday night's charity cricket match when a Rotherham team played in Wickersley.

Hall managed only 21 appearances for Rotherham as his game-time was curtailed by hamstring issues but he showed real quality when he was on the pitch.

Boss Matt Taylor simply described him as "a very good player".

The defender said: "I spoke to the manager at the end of last season and he was keen for me to stay on. I wanted to come back and play in the Championship again.

"The manager was a big part in me deciding to return. I've really bought into what he's trying to achieve here."

He becomes the fourth Miller from last season to commit his future to the club following earlier announcements of new deals for Sean Morrison, Lee Peltier and Tyler Blackett.
