ONE-MILLION-POUND man Domingos Quina tonight became Rotherham United's seventh signing of a productive January transfer window as the club made their second swoop of deadline day.

The 23-year-old Portugal youth international comes to ASESSEAL New York Stadium on loan until the end of the season.

Watford's attacking midfielder cut short a spell with Elche in Spain's top division, LaLiga, to join the Millers' push to establish themselves in the Championship.

It is thought he underwent his medical in Spain this evening to speed up the deal.

Rotherham announced the deal less than three hours after Sunderland centre-half Bailey Wright had also agreed a loan move.

The Millers now have six loanees in their squad but can name only five in their matchday 18.

The others are Grant Hall, Leo Hjelde, Tariqe Fosu and Conor Coventry.

Quina, born in Guinea-Bissau, came through West Ham United's youth set-up before Watford paid £1 million for his services in 2018.

He has since made 37 appearances for the Hornets in the Premier League and Championship, scoring three goals, and spent the second half of last season in the second tier with Barnsley for whom he hit the target twice in 16 appearances.

This term, he has played for Elche against Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Rotherham's only major loss of the window, which closes this evening at 11pm, has been playmaker Dan Barlaser who has joined Middlesbrough.
